Yes, Ma, it cost me a bundle, but you were gonna raise my allowance, right?"
"Okay, I guess so!"

Silk is the strongest of natural fibers. Fabrics woven of silk are breathable, natural temperature regulators that retain heat in cold weather and dissipate heat when things warm up. Silk is hypoallergenic, inhospitable to dust mites and fungus, and resistant to static electricity.
The Imja Tse is all about style. Unlike our pashmina shawls, the silk shawlette won't keep you really really toasty when you're stuck in an over-air-conditioned movie theater, but it will break the wind on a cruise deck, and probably break the ice, as all the cognoscenti in the room knowingly sidle up and ask if it's from Nepal. You can tell them, "Yes! And I'm going to climb Island Peak next fall."
Imja Tse, a.k.a. Island Peak, is a "trekking peak" according to the Nepal Mountaineering Association. Only 20,285 ft (6183 m), it is characterized by our friend Dan Mazur's Summit Climb as an Easy Walk and Climb Trek Peak Expedition. We chose Imja Tse to represent our silk shawlette not because it is slightly shorter than our Sagarmatha (which it is), or because it is spectacularly beautiful (ditto), or smooth as silk (if you have the right tour provider), or because it is totally accessible (slightly less than $3000 for the deluxe expedition) -- but because of all of the above.
Give our regards to Dan if you go.

Excellent quality , fast shipping, and great customer service. I've been shopping from Sunrise Pashmina for many years and have purchased their shawls for myself and a number of gifts. Empar and Seth have always been helpful and very accommodating. Highly recommended!
