So what's the fuss?
If you think that pashmina is pashmina is pashmina, let us break the news:
- The Federal Trade Commission, which is the American agency that controls trade in fabrics, does not recognize "pashmina" as a term. Like many other producers in Nepal and India, we use the term interchangeably with cashmere, a fabric woven from the hair of certain breeds of domestic goat.
- Most of the so-called pashmina shawls on the market these days are made of synthetic fibers or yarn adulterated with cheaper sheep wool.
- The big-name pashmina brands are manufactured on power looms (under dismal conditions).
Shopping for pashmina online is tricky. You can't touch and you can't be sure the actual color will match what you see on your monitor. We understand. (Fussy customers are our favorite, because they appreciate our perfectionism!!) We take the time to answer your questions, and we help you decided what options are best for you. And if you aren't satisfied, neither are we. You can always return your purchase for full refund, no matter what the problem.
At Sunrise Pashmina, all of our shawls and blankets are of impeccable quality. If you haven't experienced authentic handloomed premium quality pashmina, you are in for a treat!
Sunrise Pashmina is your best choice!

Our producers are independent, but we make all decisions, including pricing, on a collaborative basis. They are family... and our customers are loyal friends.
- We are responsive. You can email, phone, or text us at any time, and either Seth or Empar will answer personally. For texting, you can use our phone number, 607 279-7925, on Whatsapp or Telegram.
- If you want something special (whether pashmina or something else from Nepal) we can probably get it for you. We never charge before the order is actually shipped to you, and your satisfaction is always 100% guaranteed.
- See our customers' comments on Trustpilot. Here's one from Sophie McKinlay:
Exquisite shawls I have ordered several pashminas from Sunrise and they are just outstanding. The shawls are exquisite, super fine and in a gorgeous range of colours. The last shawl we ordered was for my 95 year old godmother who just loved the way it made her feel - cannot recommend highly enough.
